The Emerald Dinner
The Emerald Dinner is the main annual fundraiser for the West Suburban Irish.
It combines good food, good friends, and good Irish music and dancing with a raffle and silent auction.
The proceeds of the dinner support the St. Patrick's Day Parade and local charities.
The 2008 Emerald Dinner was held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at beautiful Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton.
Entertainment was provided by the "McRovers Irish Band," a talented quartet led by musician extraordinaire, L.J. Slavin, and talented vocalist, Dublin's own Tony Leonard.
The McNulty Irish Dancers and Trinity Irish Dancers each performed during dinner.
Our guests had the opportunity to bid on thirty silent auction prizes, and more than thirty more prizes were given out to raffle winners. The Grand Prize of a round-trip ticket to Ireland was generously donated this year by Aer Lingus.
The beneficiary of the Silent Auction will be St. Baldrick's Foundation, helping fund research for a cure of children's cancer. We are pleased to say that we will be donating $1,875 to St. Baldrick's in 2008.
Thanks to everyone who helped plan the evening, and to all that came. We hope you had a good time and plan to return next year!
