The West Suburban Irish 2010 Parade Queen:

The West Suburban Irish are happy to announce Shannon Kelly Webster as their Parade Queen for 2010.  Shannon is a senior at Naperville Central High School.  She is the photo editor, people section editor and the lead photographer for the high school’s yearbook.  At St. Elizabeth Seton Church, she is a lector and an Edge Leader for the 8th grade religious education classes.  She is planning on attending Marquette University this fall to study broadcast communications with aspirations to become a news anchor.  Shannon is a big fan of the St. Patrick’s Day parade, having been a participant many times with her Grandpa.  One of her dreams is to visit Ireland to learn more about her family history and Irish heritage.  Her Irish ancestry is from Counties Galway and Meath.

St. Patrick's Day Parade Queen

The West Suburban Irish Parade Queen is chosen based on her Irish ancestry, and her high school and community involvement. The Queen receives a scholarship in the amount of $250 for college expenses.

The Queen will be a part of many activities including hostess for the Emerald Dinner on March 6, 2010, at White Eagle Golf Club in Naperville.  The Queen will also participate in the St. Patrick's Day Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle in Naperville, on Thrusday, March 11, 2010, and the week culminates in the Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday March 13th in downtown Naperville.  Immediately following the Parade, the Queen will be involved in the presentation of awards to the various float winners.
