The West Suburban Irish 2008 Parade Queen:

The Parade Queen of the

West Suburban Irish

2008 St. Patrick's Day Parade

 is Colleen Manser.

The West Suburban Irish are pleased to introduce Colleen Manser as our 2008 Irish Queen. Colleen is a junior at Naperville North High School. Colleen’s future education plans are to attend University of Kentucky to study Communications. Colleen has been on the Varsity Cheerleading Squad for the past two years. She also takes part in Naperville North’s Peer Program where she assists special needs students by helping them socialize with other students. Colleen has also been a member of The McNulty Irish Dancers for 10 years where she has reached the preliminary championship level. Colleen also helps Barbara McNulty as a dance instructor. Colleen is very proud of her Irish heritage. Her mother’s family came from Ennis in County Clair in the late 1800’s. Ennis has been said to be the “heartland of Irish music”. Colleen has had the privilege of visiting Ireland which she believes is the most beautiful country she has ever been to. A memory that Colleen cherishes is while in Ireland, she had the opportunity to dance and associate with authentic Irish dancers. As Irish Queen, Colleen will be the hostess of the Emerald Dinner in February, participate in the Irish Mass at Ss. Peter and Paul on March 13th and the Parade in March 15th.
