First, sorry for the last minute announcement. We have been trying to settle on a date for an excursion to Blume & Ferris Public House in Downers Grove.
B&F has limited open days and the owner was in Ireland but we finally have an event.
We have negotiated a group visit for next Thursday, July 23rd at 5pm or whenever you can arrive.
Blume & Ferris is located at 2201 Curtis St., Downers Grove at the intersection of Curtis and Belmont. If you chose to take a train from Naperville, the pub is located a few block south of the Belmont train station. If you do take a train, be certain to check the in & out bound schedule because the trains don't always stop at Belmont.
As always, I need to hear back from you by next Monday as to whether you will attend so we can plan with B&F.
Our regular collection of $15 will be used to cover some of the tab, the balance will come from our treasury. Order whatever food or beer you wish from their menu. Blume & Ferris is also a brewery so you can enjoy their own fare as well.
There will be two bottles of whiskey for sampling. B&F will be supplying "proper classy" glassware for the whiskey rather than sampling from plastic shot glasses.
Johnny Drohan will be ordering golf shirts in Kelly Green with our logo. If you want one, please send me your size.
