Marble follows two married couples, Ben and Catherine, and their friends Art and Anne, whose comfortable lives begin to splinter after a shared dream triggers suspicion and desire.

“Marble by Marina Carr is an essential play for The Gift’s 25^th Homecoming Season. This haunting exploration of marriage and longing demands the kind of fearless intimacy that has always been central to our work. As we return to the neighborhood where our company was founded, this production carries special resonance, reconnecting us to the community that shaped us,” comments Co-Artistic Director Brittany Burch. “Marble is a powerful Chicago premiere by an exceptional Irish playwright and a rare opportunity to bring four longtime ensemble members together onstage for the first time ever.”
