Our last visit to Blume and Ferris Public House received such a popular approval from our members, that we are returning on Thursday, October 22nd at 5:30 for another excursion. That night also features Irish Sessions music so those wishing to stay after 7:30 are in for a great Irish musical experience.
Blume & Ferris Public House is located at 2201 Curtis St., Downers Grove at the intersection of Curtis and Belmont. If you choose to take a train from Naperville, the pub is located a few blocks south of the Belmont train station. If you DO take a train, be certain to check the in & out bound schedule because the trains don't always stop at Belmont.
Parking is limited so either park next to, or behind the pub, or use the train station lot two blocks north. DO NOT park across the street on Curtis. That business is not tolerant of patrons using their lot, even though the work day is over.
As always, I need to hear back from you by next week as to whether you will attend so we can plan with B&F.
Our regular collection of $15 will be used to cover some of the tab, the balance will come from our treasury. Order whatever food and beer you wish from their unusual irish menu. Blume & Ferris is also a brewery so you can enjoy their own fare as well. There is no limitation as to the beer choices.
There will be two bottles of whiskey for sampling. B&F will be supplying "proper classy" glassware for the whiskey rather than sampling from plastic shot glasses.
Johnny Drohan will be issuing the shirts you ordered in Kelly Green with our logo. We also have a few fleeces that were never picked up. In addition, we have a limited supply of newsboy style CWC logo caps for $30. Those who were issued one earlier, PLEASE be prepared to pay the $30. Bring cash, we don't have credit card capability.
